Product capabilities

Built around the working day in a shop or salon.

Setora covers bookings, staff, customers, payments, locations, services, reports, and data migration.

01

Booking and scheduling

Setora handles bookings from online customer booking through to completion. Customers book through the shop or salon's public Booking Page, choosing their staff member, service, date and time based on real-time availability. Booking Pages are per location; customers choose a staff member inside the booking flow rather than through a separate per-staff link. Shops can also create bookings manually or add walk-ins through an on-site kiosk operated by a staff member. Bookings can be confirmed, rescheduled, cancelled or marked as no-shows. Customers can self-cancel through a link in their confirmation.

02

Shop Websites

Setora provides public Shop Websites for Setora customers. These are separate from Booking Pages: the Shop Website is the brand, trust and local SEO layer, while the Booking Page remains the focused booking flow. The first version includes a brand homepage, location chooser, location detail pages, services by location, staff and location context, Booking Page calls to action, subtle Powered by Setora footer attribution, a default your-shop.setora.co.uk subdomain, one responsive template and concierge custom-domain support.

03

Automated reminders

Setora sends included email reminders before appointments. Optional SMS reminders use separately charged credits and are not included in the £39 platform fee.

04

Staff management

Each staff member has their own schedule with weekly hours and exception/override support. Staff are assigned to locations with date ranges. The platform supports role-based access control with over 30 granular permissions. Kiosk mode is staff-operated: a staff member signs in with a PIN and records walk-ins. There is no customer self-check-in and no customer-facing queue.

05

Setora management app (Android available)

The Setora management app for owners and staff is available on Android from Google Play at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=uk.co.setora.app&pcampaignid=web_share. It lets owners and staff view the diary, see appointment details, add appointments and manage customer details from a phone. The iOS version is not yet available. It is not a customer booking app; customers continue to use the web-based Booking Page.

06

Customer management

Setora maintains customer records with booking history and marketing consent tracking. Customer CSV exports include contact details, marketing consent, booking totals and last booking date.

07

Payments and deposits

Setora integrates with Stripe Connect for online card payment collection during booking. In-shop cash or card payments made on an existing terminal can be recorded manually. Setora does not integrate with payment terminal hardware.

08

Multi-location support

Setora supports multiple locations per business, each with its own opening hours, staff, services, pricing and booking policies.

09

Services

Shops configure their service menu with categories, pricing, and durations. Services can have per-location pricing and duration overrides. Shops control which services are bookable online versus in-shop only.

10

Reporting

Daily and period revenue reports give shop owners visibility into their financial performance. The Reporting area also includes an Appointments report (totals, completion, cancellation and no-show rates with per-staff and per-service breakdowns plus CSV export), a Team Performance report, and a Retention report covering rebooking rate and follow-up customers.

11

Data import

Shops switching from other platforms can upload CSV or Excel exports for customers, services and bookings, review the column mapping and preview data before import.

12

REST API (alpha)

Setora publishes a REST API v1 at setora.co.uk/developers covering locations, services, staff, availability, clients and bookings. It is in alpha with access by request, not generally available, and should not be described as a production or included capability.

Pricing and limitations

The price and the current boundaries.

£39 per month per location.

Setora costs £39 per month per location. This is a flat rate with no Setora commission, no per-booking fees, no percentage cuts on revenue and no per-staff-member charges. The subscription includes all Setora platform features. SMS credits and card processing are separate.

SMS reminders for customers are charged separately on a pay-as-you-go credit basis or through optional SMS subscription plans. A 14-day free trial is available with no card required. Pricing details are published at setora.co.uk/pricing.

Release states and features not currently available.

The Setora management app for owners and staff is available on Android. Download it from Google Play. The iOS version is not yet available. It is not a client-facing mobile app; customers continue to use the web-based Booking Page.

As of 26 August 2026, Setora does not offer payment terminal hardware integration such as Square Terminal, WhatsApp messaging, customer self-check-in at the kiosk, individual booking links per staff member, or direct integrations with accounting software such as Xero or QuickBooks.

One capability sits between those two lists. The Setora REST API v1 is published and documented, but it is in alpha with access by request. Treat it as available in alpha, not as a generally available integration platform.

The Setora product and each business's Booking Page do not operate as a consumer marketplace or show competing shops. The Setora marketing website separately publishes editorial local directories, which are not part of the booking product.

Market position

Predictable costs and direct client ownership.

The comparison uses the source links shown on Setora's comparison pages. Setora suits owners who want a published per-location price and no Setora commission. Marketplace discovery, export routes, staff charges and other terms vary by provider.

Note 01

Pricing model

Setora uses a published per-location price. Fresha applies commission to qualifying marketplace bookings alongside its plan and other fees. Booksy uses a subscription with additional staff and optional promotional charges. Nearcut's current Subscription price is quote-based, with a separate Free for You model. Squire publishes UK plans, but payment and other terms should be confirmed directly.

Note 02

Cost predictability

Setora's approach is a flat monthly fee with no variable costs tied to booking volume, staff count, or revenue. This model is designed for shop and salon owners who want predictable costs and full ownership of their client relationships and data.

Note 03

Trade-offs

Setora does not offer consumer marketplace discovery and has fewer third-party integrations than some established competitors. It is built for independent UK shops and salons that prioritise predictable pricing, direct customer relationships, data portability and practical day-to-day management. Independent evidence includes NHBF Trade Assured membership, a 2026 regional UK StartUp Awards win and customer reviews on Trustpilot.

Technical details

Customer booking stays web-based.

Setora's customer Booking Page is a web application. No app download is required for customers to book. The platform uses Stripe for payment processing and Twilio for SMS delivery. Authentication is handled through Clerk. The platform is hosted on Laravel Cloud for the backend and Vercel for the frontend.

The Setora management app for owners and staff is available on Android from Google Play at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=uk.co.setora.app&pcampaignid=web_share.
